RECEIVING A JOB OFFER

Be decisive

Candidates should anticipate negotiating their final offer. While many companies expect candidates to negotiate, prove to the company that you are decisive, confident, and logical. This will not just get you potentially a better offer, but you will endorse their hiring decision.

Or take your time

Before responding, enquire within what time you can give a final answer. If the company HR pushes you to give an immediate or on-the-spot reply that is a bad indicator of the company environment. Responsible employers give at least a day or two to take a well-thought decision. This indicates your employer wants you to make an informed decision.

Resign

Employees are obliged to give advance notice before resigning for efficiency and to maintain smooth operations of their workplace. It is advised to announce their intent to resign at least 30 days in advance. We encourage employees to submit a written, signed notice of resignation for record-keeping purposes and releasing the employee on time with all dues cleared.

Counteroffers

If you are to attend scheduled interviews or have more tentative job offers within the next few weeks of receiving an offer, declare it to the employer. Honesty is the best policy always. This will prove you are a desirable candidate. More prominently, it will confirm you care about the employers time as well. Confirming your acceptance guarantees you get the job. Typically, there may be other candidates in the queue of the process at this point so make sure you are committed.
